Job description

Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHCT) Community Podiatry Services is seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and focused qualified Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) registered Specialist Podiatrist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate abnormalities and diseases related to the foot and lower limb across all ages.
  • Provide treatment for high-risk groups such as the elderly and those at increased risk of amputation.
  • Deliver specialist care to maintain mobility, independence, tissue viability, and relieve discomfort, especially for patients with diabetes, circulatory disorders, neuropathy, rheumatoid arthritis, and biomechanical pathologies.
  • Work within multidisciplinary teams to support patient care and contribute to wider MDTs.
  • Deliver evidence-based podiatry in clinics, GP surgeries, hospitals, patient homes, and nursing homes within the Central locality area.
  • Provide professional advice and develop care programmes based on clinical needs.
  • Contribute to the development of the Podiatry Department and adhere to Trust policies and procedures.
  • Role model compassionate and inclusive leadership to foster a supportive team environment.

Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time position; candidates wishing to work 3 days or more will also be considered.
  • The department offers a band 5 competency programme for role development.
  • The Trust manages several hospitals and community facilities, providing a range of services aimed at enabling patients to live independently and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.
