Job Role: Mechanical Engineer (Plumber)
Location: HMP The Mount, Bovingdon, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 0NZ
Salary: £41,818.21 per annum + 5% additional for working shifts covering weekends
Contract: Permanent, full time, 39 hours per week
We are seeking a level 3 qualified Plumber to join our team at HMP The Mount, a Category C & Adult/Male prison, as a Level 3 Mechanical Engineer.

HMP The Mount operates like a self-contained town, requiring hundreds of staff to keep it functioning smoothly. Our Facilities Maintenance Team is committed to ensuring safe and efficient operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to providing a secure environment.

We are a Ministry of Justice business providing critical services to HMPPS. We are looking for a Plumber with qualifications such as:
Additional desirable experience includes working on commercial or industrial heating, water, or building service systems, unvented water heater vessel course G3, and familiarity with Water supply regulation and Legionella L8 requirements. You should have at least two years' experience as a plumber or equivalent, with good knowledge of planned preventive maintenance and health and safety standards. L8 awareness training is desirable.
