Qualifications

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics design.
  • Electrical knowledge required.
  • Motor control knowledge (e.g., star/delta).
  • CAD electrical drawing design.
  • Fault finding of electrical circuits.
  • Ability to produce panel build documentation.
  • Prepare PLC program specifications and documentation.
  • Version control for PLC programs and electrical circuits.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and test PLC systems for new and existing products.
  • Develop and configure HMI interfaces to ensure intuitive operator interaction.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to oversee implementation of development projects.
  • Analyse and optimise control systems for improved performance.
  • Document electrical schematics and control logic.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support commissioning and troubleshooting activities on-site.
  • Maintain a knowledge database for continuous improvement.

Skills

Strong electronics background
Proven experience in PLC programming (e.g., Ladder Logic, IEC Function Block)
Strong knowledge of HMI development tools and interface design
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, CANbus)
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment
Ability to read and produce electrical and mechanical drawings
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming PLCs, developing HMI interfaces, and supporting the design, testing, and implementation of innovative solutions for our product range. This role requires strong technical expertise, creativity, and a collaborative approach to deliver reliable and cost-effective automation solutions.

You will
  • Design, program, and test PLC systems for new and existing products.
  • Develop and configure HMI interfaces to ensure intuitive and efficient operator interaction.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to create functional design concepts and oversee implementation of development projects.
