Storm Fitness is actively recruiting enthusiastic individuals to supervise a wide range of sports activities for children. This exciting opportunity includes overseeing school holiday sports and hosting sports parties on weekends.

Flexibility and enthusiasm are highly desired qualities in candidates.

Main Purpose of the Role

To provide a safe, stimulating, and inclusive play environment where children can enjoy a variety of activities that promote learning, social development, and wellbeing. Playleaders will support children in structured and free play, ensuring they are engaged, supported, and encouraged to reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and engage children in a wide range of play and recreational activities.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and fun environment for children of all ages and abilities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, teamwork, and inclusion during activities.
  • Assist in planning and delivering creative play sessions (indoor and outdoor).
  • Promote healthy lifestyles, independence, and confidence through play.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and equality and diversity policies are followed at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Support children with additional needs to ensure they are fully included.
About You

Essential:

  • Experience of working or volunteering with children in a play, youth work, childcare, or school setting.
  • Friendly, approachable, and able to build positive relationships with children and families.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and able to encourage participation in activities.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Awareness of safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety.
  • Flexibility to work on a casual basis, sometimes at short notice.

Desirable:

  • A relevant qualification in Playwork, Childcare, Youth Work, or a related field (Level 2/3).
  • First Aid training.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs.
  • Creative skills (e.g. arts & crafts, music, drama, or sports) to enhance play opportunities.
