Job summary

Planning Engineer

Our client is currently looking for a Planning Engineer; the position will be offering hybrid working with 3 days a week either in the client’s office in Stockport or on site in North Wales. Travel between both locations will be required dependant on the project needs. The role will be Outside of IR35 and offering a negotiable hourly rate.

Responsibilities
  • Develop breakdown structures, quality criteria, product descriptions and monitoring strategy.
  • Enquire, record and test project assumptions to ensure plans are realistic and achievable.
  • Regular interfacing and integration with the project controls team to maintain an aligned financial position with the Project Plan.
  • Support the project manager to identify options to optimise delivery through resource smoothing, resource levelling and rescheduling of activities.
  • Identify wider resource requirements for delivery of the project.
  • Ensure stakeholder requirements are understood and addressed in reporting arrangements.
  • Provide advice on planning processes throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Qualifications
  • Experience and well training in the use of Primavera (P6).
  • Experience and understanding of earned value analysis as a reporting tool; experience in building cost and resource loaded plans.
