Job Description
- Investigate and assess potential breaches of planning regulations.
- Prepare and issue formal notices and documentation related to enforcement actions.
- Maintain accurate records of cases and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits and gather evidence to support enforcement proceedings.
- Liaise with property owners, developers, and other relevant parties to resolve issues.
- Provide professional advice on planning enforcement matters to internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the organisation at committee meetings and public inquiries, if necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and internal policies.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Planning Enforcement Officer should have:
- Proven experience in planning enforcement or a related field within the Public Sector.
- A solid understanding of planning legislation and enforcement procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess cases effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- The ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines efficiently.
- A valid driving licence and willingness to conduct site visits within the area.
