Job summary

A legal services provider in Greater London is seeking a Principal Lawyer to support legal development in Planning and Regeneration. Responsibilities include advising local authorities on complex projects, managing a team of junior lawyers, and acting as a senior liaison for clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in legal advising and a proactive approach to client interactions. This is a full-time temporary role with competitive remuneration.

• Provide advice on high-profile matters to elected members at client meetings.
• Act as a senior liaison and manage junior colleagues in the team.
• Support the Principal Lawyer in team development and performance.

Job description

To support the development with the other Principal Lawyers and Assistant Principal Lawyers.

Responsibilities

• To advise on matters arising in all areas of Planning and Regeneration, covering multiple clients, including local authorities casework which includes complex corporate projects.
• To advise on high profile matters, including advising elected members at client meetings in a proactive and politically sensitive manner.
• To act as a senior liaison point for clients and to line manage, provide professional support, supervision and development for more junior colleagues in the Planning and Regeneration team.
• To support the Principal Lawyer in the running, development and performance of the team, including deputising in the Principal Lawyer’s absence.

This is a Full time role on a temporary contract basis.
