Overview

Planning & Logistics Specialist - Airfreight

Our supply chain team comprises highly motivated and dedicated professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, relentless, and uncompromising environment, ensuring a seamless flow of parts and services critical to our operations. They handle over $250M of aircraft parts, which are distributed across the European network. With an annual spend in excess of £150M, the supply chain team manages the complete end-to-end process from supplier selection and supplier management through to the delivery of goods and services.

Responsibilities
  • Report to the Logistics & Transportation Manager and ensure the seamless movement of aircraft parts and materials across the network.
  • Build strong relationships with transport partners and suppliers; manage consignments from planning to delivery; optimise routes, costs, and lead times.
  • Monitor shipments, resolve incidents, and identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Prepare accurate consignment paperwork and ensure customs compliance.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Dangerous Goods and contribute to safe and efficient operations.
  • Contribute to process improvements, support urgent operational needs, and help shape the future of logistics strategy.
Qualifications
  • At least five years’ experience in airfreight forwarding and operations.
  • Strong grasp of alternative solutions such as OBC, charter, and FAF; ability to recommend airline solutions for US, EU, and Asia import/export flows.
  • Experience establishing new airfreight lanes and processes with correct incoterms, customs arrangements, and partner networks.
  • Solid understanding of European road freight is desirable; experience in aviation, airline, or aerospace logistics is advantageous.
  • Ideally hold a current IATA Dangerous Goods certification (or have completed the training previously).
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Location & Hours of Work

This full-time role will be based at 800 Capability Green, Luton and will be 40 hours per week.
