Job summary

A precision engineering business in Dorset is seeking a Planner Estimator to manage the full workflow from enquiry to production release. The successful candidate will have solid knowledge in CNC machining and will be responsible for preparing accurate quotations and liaising with suppliers. Strong communication skills and experience with engineering drawings are essential. This is a full-time position with a salary range of £40,000-£50,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Solid manufacturing knowledge, especially in CNC machining.
• Experience with interpreting engineering drawings and BOMs.

The Role of Planner Estimator

As Planner Estimator, you will manage the full workflow from enquiry to production release. You’ll review drawings, generate quotes, load work into the MRP system and plan production. The ideal Planner Estimator has solid manufacturing knowledge, especially in CNC machining, materials, processes and machining times.

Key Responsibilities for the Planner Estimator

• Estimating & Quoting – pick up new enquiries and prepare accurate quotations.
• Review engineering drawings, BOMs and models.
• Identify materials, processes, tolerances and required operations.
• Calculate cycle times, tooling requirements and costings.
