Job summary

A leading construction company is seeking a Planner for a water project based in Warrington. The role will involve preparing resource programmes, managing project documentation, and contributing to risk analysis. Ideal candidates should have experience in Civil Engineering, familiarity with planning software, and strong computer skills. This position offers an opportunity to work with major water service providers and contribute to vital projects in the sector.

Qualifications

  • Experience within Civil Engineering / Construction, preferably within Water but not essential.
  • Active experience of working with a wide range of planning techniques.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Job description

Murphy is recruiting for a Planner to work on an exciting Water project based out of Warrington.

We provide end-to-end services for major water and sewage companies such as Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, Northern Ireland Water, Yorkshire Water and United Utilities, and for several water-only companies including SES Water, Bristol Water and South East Water.

We also provide a full design, build, operate and maintain service for Uisce Éireann and we currently operate over 25 of their facilities, ensuring they run efficiently and comply fully with EPA regulations.

A day in the life of a Murphy Planner

Prepare a resourced programme, including reviewing the outcome for conformance with expectations and requirements.

Contribute to the risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.

Prepare visual material in aid of planned methods.

Manage personally controlled project documentation in an orderly fashion.

Provide a link between all parties regarding the planning community information

Define methods and establish outputs, in consultation with the estimator and other team members, including the supply chain in appropriate circumstances.

Liaise with the design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works.

Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and other indirect cost items.

In consultation with Estimator advise project team of required feedback reports and support.
