Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated PE Teacher to join secondary schools across Hastings and the surrounding areas of East Sussex . This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about physical education, sport, and promoting an active, healthy lifestyle among students.

This role is suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are looking for long-term, permanent, or flexible teaching opportunities.

The Role :

Teaching Physical Education across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially KS5 in some schools)

Planning and delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ physical skills, fitness, and teamwork

Delivering extracurricular sporting activities and supporting school sports programs

Assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress

Supporting students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential

Creating a safe, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment

Working collaboratively with the wider PE department and school staff

Essential Requirements :

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

A recognised degree in Physical Education, Sport, or a related subject

Strong knowledge of the PE curriculum and sporting activities for secondary school students

Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

Ability to motivate and inspire students to participate in physical activities

A professional, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to teaching

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
