Job summary

A healthcare provider in East Sussex is seeking a Phlebotomist to join their team in Bexhill-on-Sea. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and providing support to medical staff. Job description
Responsibilities

Collect blood samples from patients in accordance with venepuncture, infection control and laboratory policies and procedures. This includes collecting samples within the hospital and the Phlebotomy Clinic to achieve efficient and effective patient care and resource management.

Complete and pass an in‑house venepuncture competency programme, and maintain the ability to undertake regular hours.

Be polite and diplomatic when speaking directly to medical staff or patients, providing advice solely on the process of obtaining samples within phlebotomy. Greet patients, take telephone bookings and enter details on the department's computer when a receptionist is not available.

Provide phlebotomy service to hospital wards seven days a week, busy outpatient clinics weekdays only, and a new Community Diagnostic Centre unit in Bexhill.

Qualifications

Minimum of 6 months' experience in healthcare.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a commitment to deliver high standards of care and treat all with dignity and respect.

Ability to offer regular shifts and commit to induction within 3 months of job offer.
