A children's hospice organization in Greater London is seeking a Philanthropy Officer to develop Trust and Major Donor pipelines while collaborating with the Grants and Philanthropy teams. The ideal candidate should be organized, have strong communication and relationship-building skills, and be willing to work in a nurturing environment. This role is crucial for enhancing fundraising success and supporting children and families in need. No prior fundraising experience required. The organization promotes equality and diversity in recruitment.
Designed by families, for families, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice opened in 2019 to provide Specialist Care and Nursing for babies, children and young people, supporting their clinical, emotional, social and practical needs. The Ark is a centre where seriously unwell children can be safe to play, explore and build confidence. The charity operates across North and Central London and Herts Valley, adapting support for every child and offering it in the child’s home, community or at The Ark in Barnet. Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice aims to be a centre of clinical excellence for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.
The Philanthropy Officer will work closely with and report to the Grants, Trusts & Foundations Manager and the Head of Philanthropy to develop the Trust and Major Donor pipelines. They will engage in cross‑team work on applications and reporting for other income streams, support ongoing diversification of funding, and play a key role in sustaining and growing income from Trusts and Major Donors.
You will be a highly organized, dedicated and reliable individual ready to contribute to income generation. You should be an exceptional, eloquent communicator with strong time management skills and a natural ability to build relationships. A collaborative mindset and willingness to engage with colleagues across the fundraising team and wider charity are essential to creating the best outcomes for the children and families we support.
At this stage in your career, direct experience of fundraising from Trusts or Major Donors is not required. You are encouraged to apply if you have strong transferable skills and the potential to thrive in a nurturing environment.
