Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals looking for a challenge to join our dynamic team of rotational Pharmacy Technicians in our busy dispensary service. The role will be varied and challenging in a busy acute teaching hospital Trust. We're seeking enthusiastic Pharmacy Technicians with good attention to detail to help us deliver excellent patient-focussed care. In our various hospital dispensary sites you'll deal with a wide range of medicines (including specialised or high-cost), supporting to advance your clinical skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Timely and accurate dispensing and issuing of medication in accordance with professional and departmental procedures and standards.
  • Actively coordinate the work of a Pharmacy Dispensary to ensure a high quality and efficient service is provided.
  • Work with service users in a professional and efficient manner, dealing with either telephone or face-to-face enquiries from a wide range of staff groups, resolving where possible or referring appropriate queries to relevant members of the Pharmacy Dispensary team.
  • Support stock management in all areas of ordering, receiving, issuing and ensuring good stock maintenance in these areas. Participating in departmental stock-checks.
  • Assist with the training of new staff members and act as a professional role-model.
  • Adaptable and responsive to service needs which may require moving from one work area to another at short notice depending on service requirement.
Qualifications

You will have an NVQ or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Science and be a registered Pharmacy Technician, or working towards gaining your qualification to enable registration. An Accuracy Checking validation would be desirable but in-house training is available.
