Location: Reading

Reporting to: Pharmacy Manager

Schedule: 42.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm

Please note we do not offer part time.

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our pharmacy team. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of aesthetic & pharmaceutical products. The ideal candidate should be organised, have a strong attention to detail, and be capable of working in a compliant process driven environment.

Requirements
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy or warehouse, or similar role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy loads.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Adherence to health and safety guidelines.
  • Secondary school examinations or equivalent.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and storage requirements is an asset.
  • Accuracy Checking Technician or Accuracy Checking for Dispensing Assistants qualification or desire to undertake the qualifications with support from the company.
  • NVQ 2 Qualified
  • Familiarity with Human Medicines Regulations 2012 and EU GDP Guidelines (2013/C 343/01)
Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming product shipments.
  • Ensure all items match the accompanying documentation.
  • Report any discrepancies or damages to the relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Safely and securely store pharmaceutical products in designated areas.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems.
  • Monitor expiration dates and ensure proper rotation of stock.
  • Accurately pick and pack orders for delivery to various locations.
  • Prepare pharmaceutical products for shipment in compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on stored and shipped products.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain product integrity.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials.
  • Work closely with other team members to coordinate workflow.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacists, delivery personnel and other relevant stakeholders.
