Job description

Overview

A Personal Assistant is required to support a person with a physical impairment (power wheelchair user) with all aspects of health needs and daily living. You would be assisting a young disabled male, who is an academic at a university, and who lives with his partner and dog.

Responsibilities

• Health-related tasks and personal care, use of hoists and medical devices.
• Cooking and assistance with eating, general errands, and household tasks.
• Support with the pet dog.
• Travel (driving) and assisting the individual to carry out their work, including occasional long-distance commutes to work.

Training and Employment Details

• You do not need to have prior experience of working in a healthcare/personal care setting; full training will be provided.
