Job summary

A local care provider in Cromer is seeking a Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker to provide one-to-one care for individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities include personal care, assisting with medication, and preparing meals. Candidates should possess good interpersonal skills and a warm nature, with relevant experience in care. This is a permanent position offering 17.5 hours per week at a rate of £12.60 per hour, working Monday to Friday including weekends. Flexible scheduling will be discussed during the interview.

Overview

Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a person with a Physical/Learning Disability living in the Blantyre area.

Responsibilities

The role involves providing one-to-one care and assistance within the individual's home, including personal care and participation in social activities.

  • Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements, shaving)
  • Assisting with medication
  • Preparing meals and healthy snacks
  • Moving and assisting – pushing manual wheelchair, using a manual hoist only if required
  • General housekeeping and tidying up after the individual
  • Driving required – use of own vehicle with mileage allowance paid
Qualifications

The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role. Experience is required.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Hours & Pay

Guaranteed permanent position of 17.5 hours per week.

  • Hourly rate: £12.60
  • Days and times: Weekly rota – Monday to Friday including every 2nd weekend, earliest start 9am, typical shift ends at the latest 3pm. Days will be discussed at interview.
