Job description

Location: East Molesey

Hours: 10hrs per week

Hourly rate: £15.00

Sleep‑in rate: £70.00 (occasional and optional)

About the Role

Manpreet is an adult who suffers from multiple sclerosis (MS) seeking flexible, reliable support to help increase her independence and access the community. Most support will involve going out of the house, attending appointments (e.g., physiotherapy, counselling, rehab), and occasional assistance with personal care when out and about. She already has carers at home, so personal care at home will be minimal.

Support needs vary depending on fatigue levels. Manpreet is happy to plan days and times around the PA’s availability, as long as pre‑agreed visits are honoured. Occasional driving is required for appointments (45p per mile reimbursed). Very occasional sleep‑ins may be needed a couple of times per year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Manpreet to access the community and attend various rehabilitation appointments
  • Assisting with wheelchair transfers
  • Occasional support with personal care when out (e.g., bathroom assistance)
  • Helping with tasks affected by mobility challenges, including manual handling, food preparation, and general practical support
  • Providing reliable, consistent attendance for pre‑booked appointments
  • Driving to and from appointments when required (using your own vehicle)
About You
  • Experience supporting individuals with mobility issues (desirable)
  • Confident with wheelchair transfers and manual handling
  • Reliable, understanding, and able to work collaboratively to agree a flexible schedule
  • Comfortable assisting with personal care when needed
  • A driver with business insurance or willing to obtain it
  • Friendly and supportive — an interest in music and arts & crafts is a bonus!
