Job description
Full Time, Fixed Term - 12 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Post 16 Service as a Personal Advisor on a fixed term contract for one year. We are looking for highly motivated individuals passionate about supporting young people in transition to achieve their best. The role is part of a growing service with two positions working with general Care Leavers and one position working with asylum‑seeking young people and refugees (UASYP Team).

Responsibilities
  • Provide advice, guidance and continued support to young people from age 17 through to adulthood.
  • Lead statutory assessment, preparation and review of the pathway plan.
  • Oversee independence assessment and serve as a source of knowledge and advice to the young person and their network during transition from Child in Care to Care Leaver and wider Adult Services.
  • Coordinate delivery of services through relationship‑based support.
  • Support young people through the immigration process (UASYP Team). Prior knowledge not essential; genuine interest and willingness to develop expertise are crucial.
  • Assess needs, write reports and plans for approximately 21 care leavers.
  • Work independently, be trauma‑informed, able to challenge constructively and manage a reactive, fast‑paced environment.
  • Travel as required (most care leavers live in and around Bristol). Pool cars available.
