A healthcare provider in Manchester is looking for a Deputy Ward Manager for its perinatal service. The successful candidate will be an experienced mental health nurse with leadership skills. Responsibilities include managing care plans and supervising staff, contributing to the wellbeing of mothers and infants. The Manchester Inpatient Perinatal Service, situated at Laureate House at Wythenshawe Hospital have an exciting opportunity to become part of our management team. We are recruiting a new deputy ward manager to work within our inpatient service, as well as supporting and managing across the wider inpatient unit.
The successful applicant will be an experienced RMN with an interest in perinatal mental health. Andersen Ward specialises in the treatment and care of women who develop serious mental illness or relapse during the antenatal and postnatal period. A core part of the role requires you to support mothers and to develop/maintain a relationship with their babies. Family and carer involvement is a significant part of the ward culture, and we promote and support their involvement.
The service has strong working partnerships with a wide range of professionals, such as midwives, health visitors, social care and children services across the Northwest and as such you will need excellent communication skills and work well within a large multidisciplinary team.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has a keen interest in infant development and women\'s mental health. We encourage personal development through managerial and clinical supervision and have a variety of training opportunities.
To assist the Ward Manager in providing Leadership and Operational Management to Andersen Ward.
The post holder will assess, plan and implement care whilst role modelling to the staff team and the wider unit.
To provide specialist perinatal nursing advice to other professionals across the service and to professionals from external services.
To provide clinical and managerial leadership and supervision to junior staff and students. Providing effective clinical leadership you will be required to lead, teach, supervise and support junior colleagues.
The post holder will be an experienced RMN and have a keen interest in Perinatal mental illness.
