Performing Arts Technician Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 (FTE) depending on experience Hours: Full-time or part-time considered, term time only Location: Hertfordshire Contract: Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic Performing Arts Technician to join a vibrant and well-resourced secondary school in Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality performances and curriculum-based learning in Drama, Music, and Dance.

About the Role

You will work closely with teaching staff and students, providing technical and practical support across all performing arts disciplines. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and operating lighting, sound, and multimedia equipment for lessons, rehearsals, and performances
  • Supporting practical lessons and assessments
  • Maintaining and organising equipment, instruments, and performance spaces
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of school productions and events
  • Supporting extracurricular activities, including concerts, shows, and external trips
About You

We\'re looking for a proactive and adaptable individual with a passion for the performing arts. You should have:

  • Experience with technical theatre equipment (lighting, sound, AV systems)
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to supporting young people and their creative development

Previous experience in a school or educational setting is desirable, but not essential. Training and development opportunities will be provided for the right candidate.
