Job description
Role Overview

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced individual to effectively and compassionately lead our People Services and Systems Teams.

This role is key in ensuring all transactional HR administrative tasks, including those relating to front-end payroll, terms and conditions changes and post-employment checks, are dealt with efficiently and our people systems are fit for purpose and used to their full capacity.

Working with our Finance and Business Intelligence colleagues, the role will ensure the organisation holds high quality, accurate and accessible workforce information supporting the workforce planning process through full utilisation of all our people systems.

As a systems expert and data custodian, you will lead the planning and development of all improvements to our highly complex people systems, specifically the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system and subsequent technical interfaces. With the imminent roll-out of the Future NHS Workforce Solution, now, more than ever is the time to join our team and play a fundamental role in shaping our successful transition.

We are looking to recruit to this full-time role on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and Manage Teams:Provide strong leadership and support to the People Services and People Systems Teams, ensuring efficient delivery of transactional HR administration and full utilisation of our people systems.
  • Systems Expertise:Act as a systems expert and data custodian, leading on the planning, development, and improvement of complex people systems ensuring system integration and safeguarding of sensitive data.
  • Project Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement:Take a lead on People Services and People Systems projects, coordinate with other departments (Payroll, Business Intelligence, Occupational Health, Finance etc.), and represent the Trust at regional/national user groups.
  • Quality and Process Improvement:Use QI methodology and customer feedback to improve HR administration services, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with national and local policies.
  • Training and Guidance:Design, deliver, and update training materials and user guides for people systems, ensuring team members develop their system understanding including system maintenance and appropriate access levels.
  • Data Quality and Compliance:Maintain and interpret high-quality and complex workforce information, ensure data governance and compliance with legislation, and regularly audit and validate system data and usage.
