Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage the apprenticeship levy and programme with external education providers.
  • Support performance improvement cases through training and objectives.

  • Create and deliver digital training content with support.

Job description

At Lyons Davidson and File Dynamics our vision is to become the most people centered employer in the legal industry and we are looking for a People Development Advisor to join the team and contribute to this vision.

Reporting directly to the L&D Manager, with a dotted line to the ER Manager, you will be responsible for managing our apprenticeship and trainee programmes through the full employee life cycle. This will include assisting in the recruitment process to ensuring an effective induction, tailored learning plans and managing the probation and performance process. This role is a mix of L&D; projects and ER. You will also be or become an expert in routes to qualification in the legal sector.

As a team we offer tons of support and plenty of opportunities for personal and professional development. We are looking for people with enthusiasm, experience in L&D and ER or managing apprenticeships and a keen interest in employee experience and engagement.

You will be part of a wider People Services team made up of Talent Acquisition and Resourcing, People Operations, Employee Relations and Business Partnering and will work in a large (c.500 employees) law firm based in Bristol.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage the apprenticeship levy and the apprenticeship programme including liaising with third party education providers, group leaders and apprentices. Supporting their induction and providing ongoing career advice.
  • Support the informal stages of any capability/performance improvement cases ensuring that clear objectives are set and relevant training and support is delivered to support employees.
  • Provide advice to wider business with regard to routes to qualification and opportunities for progression.
  • Source external training in line with business needs and facilitate online and face to face training sessions.
  • Create digital training content (Renderforest, Metacompliance, PageTiger) for technical training and deliver face to face sessions if necessary, with the guidance of the L&D Manager and support of L&D Assistant.
  • Update Cascade for any internal training that is carried out (n.b employees will be expected to update their own records for any training they have attended via external providers).
  • Train and develop managers on performance management and feedback any recurring issues to the L&D and ER Managers, proposing ideas and solutions.
  • Pick up any other ER cases to support the ER team, as agreed with the ER Manager including OH referrals and wellbeing support.
Other duties
  • To undertake project work as and when requested by Manager/s.
  • Any other reasonable duties including supporting other People Services team during busy times.

  • Achieved or working towards CIPD Level 3 or 5
  • Strong working knowledge of employee relations and employment law
