Job summary

A membership-owned organization in High Wycombe is seeking a People and Culture Manager to supervise HR operations, recruitment, and employee relations. This role oversees payroll and ensures HR policies comply with legislation. The ideal candidate will have strong HR experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification. This is a pivotal role during a transformation period, requiring hands-on leadership and strategic input, offering a salary between £40,000 and £42,000.

Qualifications

  • Strong HR generalist background, ideally in a similar role.
  • Confident managing ER cases and coaching managers.
  • Experience leading or mentoring others.
  • Good understanding of UK employment law.
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on work with strategic input.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations and provide support to managers.
  • Manage the People Coordinator and ensure HR processes are efficient.
  • Act as escalation point for employee relations matters.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for vacancies.
  • Oversee payroll and pension processes ensuring accuracy.
  • Maintain HR policies in line with legislation.
  • Coordinate initiatives for employee engagement and wellbeing.
  • Lead the organisation’s approach to equity, diversity and inclusion.
