Pensions Solicitor

Location: Cheltenham
Salary: Up to £70,000 (DOE)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (initial on-site expectation)

About the Role

A new opportunity has arisen for a Pensions Solicitor to join a specialist team advising trustee and employer clients across a range of sectors. The role offers a mix of advisory and transactional pensions work, including drafting scheme documentation, advising on corporate activity involving pension schemes, supporting scheme funding matters and assisting with risk reduction projects.

The team also advises on auto-enrolment compliance, public sector pension participation, governance issues and pension scheme restructuring. You will benefit from exposure to high-quality technical matters and strong internal training structures.

Responsibilities
  • Providing clear, pragmatic pensions law advice
  • Drafting scheme documentation and advising on rule interpretation
  • Assisting with disputes and liaising with Counsel
  • Supporting M&A transactions involving scheme considerations
  • Advising on auto-enrolment and public sector pension issues
  • Contributing to knowledge management and training
About You
Essential
  • Qualified solicitor with pensions experience
  • Strong understanding of pensions legislation
  • Ability to advise clearly and confidently
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
Desirable
  • Negotiation and communication skills
  • Familiarity with public sector pension frameworks
