Are you a technically minded Pensions professional eager to work for a leading Pensions organisation and their specialist business unit?

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a portfolio of large and complex UK Defined Benefit pension schemes, alongside a team of experienced Pension calculation specialists. The role offers exposure to high-profile schemes and innovative Pensions propositions, with a strong focus on quality, automation and continuous improvement.

The role

You will play a key role in delivering accurate, efficient and scalable Pension calculations, contributing to both day-to-day delivery and longer-term process optimisation. Responsibilities include :

  • Analysing Trust Deeds, Rules and scheme documentation to design accurate and maintainable calculation solutions
  • Producing detailed DB calculation specifications and supporting automation test packs from first principles
  • Supporting and developing end-to-end calculation automation and efficiency improvements
  • Liaising with third parties such as scheme actuaries and legal advisers to resolve complex technical queries
  • Managing workloads effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and a collaborative “one team” culture
About you

You will bring strong technical DB Pensions knowledge and enjoy solving complex problems in a detail-driven environment. You are likely to have :

  • Experience in UK occupational pensions, with strong Defined Benefit expertise
  • In-depth knowledge of GMP, GMP Equalisation, contracting-out requirements and historic UK pensions legislation
  • A self-starter mindset, comfortable working with ambiguity and new technology
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a virtual team

Experience with Unix-based systems, SQL or command-line tools is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
