Job description

New Directions Education is currently recruiting a committed and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join an outstanding secondary school in Sefton. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students in physical education and support them in reaching their academic and sporting potential.

About the School:

The Role:
  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across Key Stages 3–5, including Physiology topics such as energy systems, biomechanics, and effects of exercise.
  • Support students in understanding Psychology topics including skill acquisition, learning theories, personality, stress, and aggression.
  • Provide opportunities to explore Sociocultural influences on sport (desirable but not essential).
  • Promote positive behaviour, healthy lifestyles, and participation in school sporting activities.
  • Contribute to extracurricular programs, clubs, and school events.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Qualified to teach PE at secondary level (QTS or equivalent).
  • Experienced in delivering PE across KS3–5, with strong knowledge in physiology and sport psychology.
  • Committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service if not already in place.
  • Able to provide references covering at least the last 5 years of employment or study.
