Location: Bournemouth
Job Type: Full Time

Are you passionate about inspiring students to lead healthy lifestyles and achieve their full potential through physical activity? GSL Education are excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated individual to join as a PE Teacher at a special education school in Bournemouth, starting immediately.
The school caters to children in the primary age group, with a strong focus on those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. It also supports students with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs). The school is committed to providing a nurturing, calm, and inclusive environment where students feel safe and respected. With small class sizes (no more than seven pupils per class) and high staffing levels, each child receives the individual attention they need. The school is equipped with purpose-built classrooms, a sensory room, therapy hub, quiet rooms, and extensive outdoor areas, including a sports hall, playground, and courtyard garden. The school follows a flexible timetable that combines primary and secondary school learning, adapting to the diverse needs of its pupils while offering a safe space to build resilience and confidence.
As the PE Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging, structured PE sessions to small groups of primary‑aged students in a behaviour/SEMH environment. You will help these students develop physical, emotional, and social skills through creative and inclusive activities. Your leadership in the PE department will be pivotal in shaping the curriculum and creating an environment where physical activity is both enjoyable and therapeutic.
Please note, this role requires a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must undergo all necessary background checks, including an enhanced DBS.
