PE Graduate Teaching Assistant

Location

£90–£95 per day

Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

About the Role

We are seeking an energetic and motivated PE Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and vibrant school community in Wandsworth. This role is ideal for a recent PE or Sports Science graduate who is passionate about physical education, health, and wellbeing, and keen to gain valuable school-based experience while supporting pupils’ physical and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher and PE staff in delivering engaging and inclusive PE lessons
  • Assist with the organisation and supervision of physical activities, games, and sports sessions
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to support skill development and participation
  • Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and sportsmanship
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and active learning environment
  • Support pupils with additional needs, adapting activities where required
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining PE equipment and resources
  • Monitor pupils’ progress and engagement, providing feedback to teaching staff
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Requirements
  • A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sport & Exercise Science, or a related subject
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in teaching, coaching, or youth sport
  • Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable)
  • A proactive, enthusiastic, and confident approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo checks
  • A commitment to inclusion, equality, and promoting healthy lifestyles
