Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager in Leicester to oversee payroll activities and lead a team of Payroll Officers. The ideal candidate has CIPP qualifications and extensive experience using Sage Payroll. Responsibilities include accurate payroll preparation, budgeting support, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role offers the opportunity to develop systems and processes while managing a large payroll of approximately 1000 employees.

Qualifications

  • CIPP qualification or working towards is preferred.
  • Experience managing a payroll from start to finish.
  • Ability to effectively delegate workload.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll preparation for all group companies.
  • Support with forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Maintain all payroll databases and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Manage and support Payroll Officers.

Skills

CIPP qualification or working towards
Ability to manage workload
Experience with large payrolls (circa 1000)
Understanding of pensions law
Experience managing payroll integrity

SRM Recruitment are pleased to be partnering with a leading brand based in the Northamptonshire area who are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team.

Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for leading all payroll activities within the group of companies, including overseeing 2 Payroll Officers.

Job Purpose:

  • To supervise and ensure the efficient and accurate payroll for all companies.
  • To undertake the payment of all payrolls on a timely basis
  • To support the forecasts and budgets of the Group.
  • To provide effective support to, and the leadership of the Payroll Officers
  • To support the development of an organisational culture that puts the Core Values at the centre of all that is undertaken.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of monthly payroll for all group companies.
  • Assisting and supporting Payroll Officers.
  • Supporting with forecasting and budgeting processes as well as period end audits.
  • Ensure the maintenance of all payroll databases.
  • Continuous development of systems and processes to ensure all payroll is accurate.
  • Ensure the organisation is compliant with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Support with digitalisation transformation of finance, including upgrading the payroll system.
  • Preparation of monthly management and annual accounts.

About you:

  • CIPP qualification or working towards
  • Ability to manage workload, effectively delegate.
  • Experience of large payrolls - circa 1000
  • Understanding of pensions law, HMRC regulations and pay legislation.
  • Experience of effectively managing a payroll from start to finish and ensuring the integrity of the payroll reports.
  • Extensive experience of using Sage Payroll
  • Knowledge of payroll practices and procedures
