About the Firm:

We are partnering with a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Harrow that offers a comprehensive range of financial services to a wide portfolio of clients, including sole traders, SMEs, and limited companies. The firm prides itself on its client-focused approach, supportive team culture, and high professional standards.

They are now looking to appoint a Part-Time Payroll Manager to take ownership of their payroll function and ensure accurate and timely processing for a variety of clients.

Role Overview:

This is a standalone role suited to someone highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple client payrolls independently. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a diverse client base
  • Set up new starters, process leavers, and handle changes to employee details
  • Administer pension contributions and auto-enrolment duties
  • Process statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP) and ensure full HMRC compliance
  • Submit RTI reports including FPS, EPS, and year-end forms (P60, P45)
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure GDPR compliance
  • Handle payroll queries from clients professionally and efficiently
  • Liaise with HMRC and pension providers where required
  • Stay updated on payroll legislation and ensure all processes remain compliant
Key Requirements:
  • Previous experience managing payrolls, preferably in an accountancy practice or bureau environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory obligations
  • Proficiency in using payroll software (BrightPay)
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
