Payroll Manager | £45,000 - £50,000 | Chorley + Hybrid | Payroll Implementation | High-growth, PE-backed business

Axon Moore are proudly working alongside a rapidly-growing, PE-backed business in Chorley as they recruit for an experienced Payroll Manager to bring payroll in-house from bureau. As such, this role is well suited a driven individual who wants to achieve long-term success within a growing business.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full end-to-end payroll process for multiple payrolls across Group, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries, bonuses, and deductions
  • Management of monthly, quarterly and yearly bonus schemes
  • Ensuring compliance with Payroll and Tax legislation
  • Management of HMRC matters related to payroll
  • Managing compliance of payroll policies, procedures and regulations
  • Ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Yearly preparation and timely reporting to HMRC, including RTI submissions, P60s and P11Ds
  • Ad hoc and ongoing staffing analysis
  • Development and management of payroll system
  • Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits
  • Support the implementation of new payroll-related schemes or legislative changes
  • Contribute to ad-hoc finance and HR projects
  • Undertake other payroll-related admin duties as required to support the wider finance team
Required Skills and Experience:
  • CIPP qualified (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, pension schemes and HMRC requirements
  • Great attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Good IT, Excel and systems knowledge
  • Able to quickly adapt to change
  • Work efficiently towards meeting deadlines
