Job Title: Temporary Payroll Officer

Location: Exhall, Coventry

Contract Type: Temporary (with immediate start)

Hours: Full-time or part-time (flexible hours available, Monday to Friday)

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Payroll Officer to join our team on a temporary basis in Exhall, Coventry. The role involves managing the weekly payroll for approximately 130 employees. This position can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with flexibility around working hours for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process end-to-end weekly payroll for approx. 130 employees
  • Input and reconcile timesheets, holidays, absences, and overtime
  • Administer statutory payments including SSP, SMP, and SPP
  • Ensure timely submissions to HMRC (FPS, EPS)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from staff and management
  • Liaise with HR and Finance to ensure smooth payroll operations
  • Support payroll reporting and reconciliations as needed
  • Stay informed and compliant with current UK payroll legislation
Requirements
  • Previous experience processing weekly payroll
  • Good working knowledge of UK payroll legislation
  • Experience using payroll software (e.g., Sage, BrightPay, or similar)
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and manage deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
  • Experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or industrial setting
  • Familiarity with time & attendance systems
  • Available for immediate start
