The Role

As Payment Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s payment operations, ensuring smooth transaction flows across multiple product lines, and maintaining compliance with regulatory frameworks.

You will lead the payments team, manage relationships with payment service and banking providers, and drive strategic initiatives to optimize efficiency, security, and customer experience.

What you’ll be doing
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with payment providers to ensure seamless delivery of solutions that meet customer needs across all payment channels.
  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of inbound and outbound payments (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, dividends, fund transfers).
  • Ensure adherence to FCA, PSD2, and EMI regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for guiding internal teams with expert recommendations to optimize payment processes and maintain consistency with overall business strategy and regulatory changes.
  • Manage relationships with banks, card networks, payment processors, and custodians.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payment workflows and reduce operational risk.
  • Drive automation initiatives to enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Responsible for creating payment experiences that balance customer‑centric design with operational efficiency and fraud risk management.
  • Lead and mentor the payments operations team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with product, compliance, and technology teams to design payment solutions aligned with new product launches.
What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience in payment operations management within Fintech, banking, or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of EMI regulations, FCA requirements, and PSD2 framework.
  • Familiarity with investment products (ISA, GIA, stocks, mutual funds).
  • Experience with payment systems (SEPA, Faster Payments, SWIFT, card acquiring).
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities, with the ability to build and sustain strong relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to build and motivate high‑performing teams.
