Job description

Sheffield Walk-in-Centre are looking for a forward thinking Patient Navigator/Receptionist to facilitate and deliver a patient centric experience. This is an opportunity to provide care that will really make a difference by working within a caring, compassionate team who truly put the patients at the forefront of their work.

Main duties of the job

The Patient Navigator will work with our existing team to provide patient focused telephone and administration services that assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professionals.

Note: This is a part-time job. The full-time equivalent for us is 40 hours per week.

Job responsibilities

The job holder will have to:

  • receive and make calls as required with the ability to handle heavy phone/patient traffic
  • divert calls and take messages as appropriate
  • sort, review and distribute incoming internal mail
  • process outgoing mail following the procedure
  • pull, file and photocopy patient’s paper records
  • scan and attach patients’ data to patients’ electronic records
  • ensure the reception area is left tidy and ready for use by other colleagues, together with any hand-over information
  • receiving all incoming deliveries, opening and distributing accordingly

Walk in Centre sees 77,500 patients annually through walk-in and those booked directly into the service through external system partners such as NHS 111. We have a close relationship with the local hospitals and work across the city with our external partners, to ensure we are providing high-quality care for our patients.

  • NHS Pension with 20.6% Employer Contribution
  • Unsocial hours payment at 30%, Monday to Friday after 6pm and all-day Saturday and Sunday
