Overview

You have at least two years’ experience within the IP profession as a Patent Attorney working towards UK and European qualification. You should possess a formal qualification in Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science, providing there is a significant component in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning. You may have attained specific industry experience in addition to your STEM degree background. Applications from Finalist and recently qualified level Patent Attorneys would also be welcomed.

About the Role

A highly regarded and award-winning Tier 1 firm is expanding their AI-focused practice. This newly created role will allow you to work with several clients at the cutting edge of this expanding field. The role can be based in London, the South-East or South-West and will involve collaborating with Partners, fellow Associates as well as Trainees and IPSS specialists.

Responsibilities
  • Drafting, prosecution, opposition work, freedom to operate and opinion work for portfolios across start-ups to multinational companies.
  • Developing IP strategy in the AI/ML field for a diverse client base, with a global remit.
  • Working closely with clients to deliver high-quality, technically informed IP advice.
  • Contributing to business development and building the client base where applicable.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum two years’ experience within the IP profession as a Patent Attorney working towards UK and European qualification.
  • Formal qualification in Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science with a significant component in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning.
  • Industry experience beyond the STEM degree is welcomed; finalist and recently qualified Patent Attorneys will be considered.
