The Role – Pastry Commis Chef

We are seeking a dedicated Pastry Commis Chef to join the pastry team. Working under experienced senior chefs, you will assist in the preparation and execution of high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, and afternoon tea items for both the restaurant and the hotel’s wider offering.

This role is ideal for someone early in their pastry career, or a Commis Chef looking to specialise in the pastry section.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of pastry items, desserts, breads, cakes and afternoon tea components
  • Support the Pastry Chef and senior team in day-to-day mise en place
  • Maintain high levels of organisation, cleanliness and stock rotation
  • Follow recipes precisely to ensure consistency across all pastry products
  • Learn new techniques and contribute to a smooth, well-run pastry section
  • Uphold strict standards of food safety, allergen control and hygiene
  • Support service periods as required, including plating and finishing desserts
