Overview

Please note: The school is based in Yate Bristol and the role is scheduled to commence in June 2026.

Responsibilities

As a Pastoral Manager you will take the lead in enabling your team to meet our young people's emotional needs. The role involves:

  • Providing high standards of care for pupils with complex and challenging emotional and behavioural needs, including ASD and BESD.
  • Working with families and developing individualized programmes for each pupil.
  • Managing a small team, motivating staff and ensuring effective pastoral support.
  • Maintaining strong multi‑agency working relationships and safeguarding procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience with ASC, ADHD, or SEMH pupils and experience working with families in challenging circumstances.
  • Experience of multi‑agency work with an understanding of safeguarding and child protection legislation and guidance.
  • NVQ 3 in Care or Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Ideally, a leadership related qualification.
  • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) knowledge.
  • Experience of staff appraisal, performance management and supervision.
