The Opportunity

Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be working with a number of fast-growing and ambitious accountancy practices who are entering or expanding across the Scottish market. These firms are seeking to appoint senior leaders at Partner or Director level across key service lines including Audit, Tax, Business Advisory and Corporate Finance.

This is a unique chance to play a pivotal role in shaping growth strategies, driving service delivery, and influencing the culture of practices that are entering an exciting phase of development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership across chosen service lines (Audit, Tax, Corporate Finance, or Advisory).

  • Lead and grow a client portfolio, delivering high-quality technical and commercial solutions.

  • Build, develop, and mentor high-performing teams.

  • Play a central role in business development, practice growth, and market positioning.

  • Collaborate with fellow leaders to shape firm-wide strategy, innovation, and future direction.

  • Develop strong networks and act as a trusted advisor to a wide range of clients, from entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses to larger corporates.

About You
  • Professionally qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).

  • Proven leadership experience at Director or Partner level (or a senior manager ready to step up).

  • Strong technical expertise in one or more disciplines: Audit, Tax, Corporate Finance, or Business Advisory.

  • Commercially astute with a track record of developing and maintaining client relationships.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive growth and innovation.

  • Inspirational leader who can motivate, mentor, and develop teams.
