Job summary

About the Role

As part of our Participation Team, you’ll work closely with the Assistant Head of GFA to lead and support a team of enthusiastic coaches, helping to deliver high-quality, engaging, and inclusive gymnastics sessions. This is a hands-on role, combining on-floor coaching with programme development, team leadership, and coach mentoring.

This is an exciting opportunity for a coach with established experience who is ready to move into a role that combines coaching delivery with mentoring, coach and programme development

Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver progressive, engaging, and inclusive GFA sessions.
  • Mentor, support, and upskill existing coaches to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with the Assistant Head of GFA to improve session structures and raise holistic coaching standards.
  • Support planning and delivery of club-wide events such as Awards weeks, displays, and competitions.
  • Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and Academy policies.
  • Promote a positive and professional coaching culture within the team.
  • Act as a key point of contact for parents, gymnasts, and coaches, ensuring effective communication and professionalism.
  • Support the Assistant Head of GFA with HR-related matters including managing timesheets, conducting appraisals, writing coach development plans, and providing training & CPD opportunities.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance your skills and qualifications.

You’ll be an experienced coach with a passion for participation gymnastics, strong leadership skills, and the ability to motivate both gymnasts and coaches. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being part of a collaborative and supportive team.

Essential requirements
  • British Gymnastics Level 2 (or above) coaching qualification.
  • Experience leading or mentoring other coaches.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • A commitment to creating a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for all.
