Role Overview

Year 1/2 Teaching Assistant (3 days per week) – Start: February Half Term, End: July. Location: Burntwood. Part‑time – Wednesday to Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Support the teaching and learning of Year 1 and Year 2 pupils.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher to implement learning activities and assess student progress.
  • Assist with classroom management and create a stimulating and inclusive classroom.
  • Develop and implement interventions for children who require additional support.
  • Proactively support students’ social and emotional development.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working in a primary school setting, particularly in Key Stage 1.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Relevant qualifications (Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) would be beneficial.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
