Job description

Overview

The role is varied, including routine administrative tasks such as selecting and producing team lists, and the opportunity to work directly with school students. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, be a self-starter, and work flexibly as part of a strong team with a good sense of humour and commitment to hard work.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of the swimming program for beginners through to the Year 8 Swim Squad throughout the academic year.
• Coach across years 4-14, with a detailed knowledge of the sport and a good standard of personal experience.
• Attend and support at galas throughout the season.
• Work with the Director of Sport and other departmental members, receiving full support from the Director of Sport and colleagues.

Qualifications

• ASA Level 2 Swimming Coach Qualification as a minimum standard
• High level of personal proficiency and experience in coaching swimming
• Current lifesaving qualification
• Good organisational and planning skills
• Plenty of enthusiasm and the ability to motivate students
• Extensive knowledge of the subject area
• Flexible and self-motivated with a dedication to student achievement and quality
• Good written and verbal communication skills; IT literate
• Proactive and able to think on your feet
• Clean driving licence and potential to drive the school minibus
• Team player

Pipers Corner is a Girls\' School Association Independent School for girls aged 4-18.
