Part‑Time SEND Teacher (0.4 FTE) – Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Start Date: February 2026 or as soon as possible

Working Pattern: Part time (0.4 FTE)

Salary: Dependent on experience, including SEN allowance where applicable

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for pupils with PMLD and SLD.
  • Create an accessible and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Use evidence‑based teaching approaches that encourage independence and a love of learning.
  • Design real‑life, meaningful learning opportunities for whole‑class, small‑group and exploratory work.
  • Share good practice and contribute to whole‑school improvement.
  • Support curriculum enrichment and extended learning activities.
  • Follow safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR guidelines.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally PMLD or SLD.
  • Positive, flexible and creative approach to teaching.
  • Passion for developing pupils' resilience and learning characteristics.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and SEND best practice.
  • Commitment to CPD and continued professional development.
