Job description

My client is a School based in West London, boasting a range of excellent facilities and modern working environment, is now looking to recruit to the important role of School Finance Manager to join the senior support staff. This is a contract role for at least 9 months. This role is being offered on a part time basis, initially 3 days per week with a view to becoming 4 or 5 days per week.

Leading a small finance team and working closely with the School Business Manager, the role centres on managing the income and expenditure of the school, providing insightful reporting and analysis for the Senior Leadership Team. Key to success in this post will be setting and controlling budgets, alongside keen financial management and appraisal of the procurement of services, suppliers and products for the school. You’ll become the trusted advisor to the Head, helping with sound financial decision making to ensure high standards of education are met. You’ll ensure various annual reporting deadlines are met, managing the ESFA and HMRC statutory returns.

Applications are sought from experienced finance candidates, either formally qualified or actively studying a professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent). Previous experience of operating at a similar level, within schools or other educational sector experience is essential. Certainly, evidence of managing and controlling budgets, good IT and reporting experience will be required.

My client is looking for a new year start so you must be available from the beginning of January.
