A local government authority in the UK is seeking a Library Assistant for Handforth Library. The role involves delivering excellent customer service, assisting users, and running community events. Candidates should have strong IT and communication skills, experience in customer-facing roles, and a passion for books. This part-time position is 11.75 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
A Library Assistant is the first point of contact for users of the library. Library Assistants deal with the public in person and on the telephone, answering enquiries, assisting them in using self-service machines and public computers, staffing the council information point and signposting to other agencies. This part time post for 11.75 hours is at Handforth Library.
Do you want to work in a customer facing role within the Library and Information Service? This is an opportunity for you to join Handforth Library, a busy community library that provides a quality and diverse range of services for its customers. We are looking for someone who has a wide range of skills and wants to make a real difference in the community.
If you are committed to providing excellent customer service and can contribute cheerfully and positively to an efficient, quality library service, then Handforth Library could be the place for you. We currently have a vacancy for a Library Assistant to work 11.75 hours per week.
The 11.75 hours are worked over a two-week timetable and could include alternate Saturday mornings. The approximate pattern of hours is detailed below. There is a need for flexibility as there are times when you may be asked to work at other libraries.
For further information or for an informal discussion about the role, please contact Kathryn Cash, Library Manager or Chloe Mather, Senior Library Assistant on 01625 378272 or email Chloe.Mather@cheshireeast.gov.uk
