We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team. In this role, you will provide support to our trial team and assist in all phases of the litigation process. You will perform legal research, conduct interviews, file documents, and attend trials. The ideal candidate is hardworking and detail oriented.

Job Description

As a Paralegal/Legal Assistant, you will provide crucial support to attorneys and legal teams in a variety of legal tasks. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Legal Research: Conducting comprehensive legal research using various resources such as online databases, legal libraries, and court records to gather relevant information for cases and legal matters.
  • Drafting Legal Documents: Assisting in drafting a wide range of legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, agreements, and correspondence under the supervision of attorneys.
  • Case Management: Organizing and managing case files, both in electronic and physical formats, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, tracking deadlines, and ensuring all documents are properly filed and organized.
  • Client Communication: Communicating with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, schedule appointments, and assist with any inquiries or concerns they may have.
  • Court Filings and Procedures: Assisting with the preparation and filing of legal documents with courts and administrative agencies, as well as coordinating hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Trial Preparation: Providing support to attorneys in preparing for trials, including organizing evidence, drafting witness lists, preparing trial exhibits, and assisting with trial logistics.
  • Legal Administrative Tasks: Performing various administrative tasks to support the legal team, such as managing attorney calendars, scheduling meetings and appointments, answering phones, and handling correspondence.
  • Compliance and Regulation: Ensuring that all legal documents and activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and procedural requirements, and staying up to date with changes in legal guidelines and standards.
Qualifications

1-3 years legal assistant experience or equivalent skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision.

Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to organize and track overlapping tasks and assignments, with frequent priority changes.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively.

Highest standard of professionalism and integrity.

Strong technical capability and intermediate skills in using MS Office Tools

Education and other designations

Requires 2-3 years’ law firm experience (Criminal Law)
