About the role

Working under the supervision and co‑ordination of the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out any necessary minor paint work repairs using small, medium area repair technology (SMART) to ensure vehicles are in pristine condition prior to dispatch and that all vehicles comply with company standards and health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and carry out any necessary paint repairs
• Ensure that all vehicles are painted to the manufacturers required standard using appropriate repair techniques (SMART)
• Ensure materials are used within the manufacturer’s instruction and minimal usage for effective repair
• Remove and replace / fit protector mouldings, transfers and decals
• Apply finishing materials, water and solvency based materials
• Carry out masking and sanding procedures
• Prepare substrate for refinishing
• Apply colour matching techniques and carry out paint rectification and touch up work
• Carry out buffering and burnishing
• Inspect paint and trim work to ascertain recommended repair procedures
• Maintain the upkeep of all workshop tools and equipment
• Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times
• Undertake any other duties as directed commensurate with the level of the job function

About you

• Over 22 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes
• NVQ (or equivalent) in Vehicle spraying or similar
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in vehicle paint spraying
• Must pass a skills test that evaluates Colour Matching Techniques, Paint rectification and touch up work using both Water and Solvency based materials
• Basic understanding of health and safety and cooperate with managers to comply with Health & Safety regulations
