The PA to the Head Teacher is responsible for acting as the first line of contact for the Head Teacher, their diary management, and to provide excellent organisational and administrative support in managing the day-to-day running of the school and the school office via the line management of the reception and office team.
The incumbent of this position comes into contact with a wide range of adults and students and provides a warm welcome to visitors and other contacts whilst operating with the highest professional standards in support of the Head Teacher. They will represent the values and ethos of the school at all times and put the safety and wellbeing of our students first.
The role is permanent and full-time (40 hours per week), term-time plus 5 days, with desired working hours of 7.30am – 4.00pm daily, although there is some flexibility for the right candidate.
To act as first line contact for the Head Teacher, using discretion and tact to ensure telephone callers and visitors receive a professional response, and are dealt with by the appropriate person
To support the Head Teacher with administrative duties which will include dealing with highly confidential and sensitive issues
To communicate to and liaise with members of the academic and support staff as appropriate
To maintain up to date information on SIMS, the school’s chosen MIS system
To handle relevant incoming calls, emails and correspondence and referring on as appropriate
To facilitate and administer the school policy review process together with the clerk to the governing body.
To participate in and attend meetings and training as appropriate, including CPD days minute meetings
To take an active role in their own professional development in line with performance management objectives
To embody the school’s values and represent the school in a positive manner at all times
To undertake such other duties as requested by Head Teacher / Senior Leadership Team as are reasonably required as part of the role
