PA to Headteacher — ASAP Start — Full Time - Permanent (Employed directly by the school) — Luton, Bedfordshire — £27,254 - £29,064 Per Annum

Can you provide high-level, confidential and proactive administrative support to the Headteacher in a manner that is consistent with the Schools Policy and best practice?

You will act as the primary point of contact for the Headteacher, managing communications, diary commitments, and supporting the smooth running of the principal s office.

You will facilitate effective liaison between the Headteacher, staff, parents / carers, governors and external agencies, while supporting the vision, aims and ethos of our academy.

This is vital role and a key position within the academy, which due to its confidential nature, requires diplomacy and sensitivity, as well as dedication and a highly efficient, organised, flexible and responsible approach.

Job description
  • To provide high-level, confidential, and proactive administrative support to the principal, acting as the primary point of contact for the principal, managing communications, diary commitments, and supporting the smooth running of the principal s office.
  • Managing the Principal s diary, scheduling appointments, meetings, and events efficiently
  • Handling all incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring confidentiality and a prompt response in the appropriate manner and in particular checking and responding daily to any correspondence from the Local Authority
  • Preparing agendas, take minutes, and follow up on actions from meetings as required, including taking minutes at staff briefings and emailing them out to staff.
  • Receiving and managing complaints to the principal in line with the Trust s Complaints Policy.
  • Supporting the Principal in producing reports, presentations and key documents, policies and other documents as directed including the collation, production and dissemination of the weekly staff and parent bulletins.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for staff, parents / carers, governors, and external stakeholders, always ensuring excellent communication.

  • A thorough understanding of administration procedures, and demonstrable work experience in a general office environment.
  • Experience of and proficiency in using word-processing, spreadsheets, databases and IT packages., including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels and fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
  • Demonstrable communications skills with the ability to receive and give accurate information to a wide range of people inside and outside of the academy.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to remain calm and controlled under pressure managing competing priorities demands and deadlines
  • The ability to develop constructive working relationships with staff, whilst always maintaining a high level of professionalism.
