Gibside School is rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Staff, parents, and governors all work in partnership to ensure pupils thrive socially, emotionally, and educationally during their time with us. We work with around 200 children, aged 3 to 11 from across the whole borough of Gateshead. The children have a wide range of needs including autistic spectrum condition (ASC), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD). Our aim is to inspire, motivate and challenge all our children and to build confident, cooperative, independent learners. We moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art school building in 2021 which provides the excellent learning facilities our children so deserve.
We are currently looking to appoint 2 highly motivated and reliable Level 3 Teaching Assistants. You should have experience and knowledge of approaches which are successful when working with children with a range of Special Educational Needs. Other skills required include good communication skills, a flexible approach and the ability to work with multi-disciplinary colleagues, parents and carers. Previous applicants need not apply.
If you are successful, you will have to apply for an enhanced Disclosure. This post may require a declaration under the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2009.
Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year, they are subject to an equated salary adjustment.
